Definition
Partner enablement is the training, tools and content a vendor gives partners so they can sell, deploy and support its products. It covers sales training, technical certification, pitch materials, demo access and competitive guidance. The goal is partners who can win deals without heavy vendor help.
Enablement is ongoing. Products, pricing and competitors change, so partners need regular updates, not just training at signup.
Many vendors track enablement through certifications and course completions. Those numbers help, but the better test is whether trained partners register more deals and close them.
In practice
A vendor releases a new cloud security feature and gives partners a 20-minute sales module, a demo script and a one-page battle card the same week.
