Definition
Partner-sourced revenue is revenue from deals that a partner found and brought to the vendor. The partner created the opportunity, not the vendor's own sales or marketing teams. It is often tracked through approved deal registrations. Definitions vary, so programs should write down exactly what counts.
Many channel teams use partner-sourced revenue as their main measure, because it shows new business the vendor would not have found alone.
Disputes are common when the vendor already knew the account or when marketing touched the lead first. Clear rules and a single system of record reduce those arguments.
In practice
An MSSP brings a new hospital client to a vendor through an approved deal registration, and the closed deal is counted as partner-sourced.
